“I’ve always seen as non-photogenic, that my face looks awkward through cameras. But after a session with Sammi, I realise a good portrait doesn’t rely on being photogenic. The photos opened a doorway into seeing my true self. I thought of the photoshoot experience, and found myself at ease with the memory. There was no pressure to pose perfectly, or to walk and smile a certain way. It was a comfortable, even mindful day, and Sammi was there.”
